New Starters 2025-2026
Reception Class 2025-2026
Welcome to Saint Patrick's Family Community!
We are delighted to welcome you and your child to Saint Patrick’s Catholic Primary School family and community. Whether you are new to the school or you already have children here, we look forward to speaking and meeting with you and your child over the next few months.
Stage 1 – Parent Induction Meeting
You are cordially invited to a Parent Induction Meeting on Wednesday 2nd July at 9:15am in the EYFS classroom. This information meeting will be led by staff from the Foundation Stage (Reception Class) team and myself. We will address all the practical elements and routines that will help to make your child’s start with us as smooth as possible, as well as discuss our vision for establishing a positive partnership between home and school. You will also receive an Induction pack with a variety of forms to be completed and returned to school before the end of this academic year. Please contact the office to confirm your attendance at this meeting.
Stage 2 – Class Visit
Your child is invited to Saint Patrick’s on either Tuesday 8th July (surnames beginning with A – O inclusively) or Wednesday 9th July (surnames beginning with P – Z inclusively). The visit will be from 9.15am – 10.00am and will be a taster series of activities with the class teacher in a smaller setting.
Stage 3 – Changeover Day
Your child will be invited to return to school for the school’s ‘Changeover Day’ on Monday 14th July from 1:30-2:30pm, where all the present pupils will also move up to their new classes and teachers for the new academic year. On both the class visit and changeover day, we ask that you leave your child with us so that they become accustomed to their new surroundings.
Stage 4 – ‘Meet the Teacher One to One’
In the first few weeks of the new school year, the Reception class teacher will arrange a 10 minute meeting with each new child’s parent(s) to personally introduce herself, but also for you to share information about your child in order to develop a relationship as ‘Partners in Learning’. As new members of the school community, you automatically become members of our Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA).
Stage 5 – Starting School – A Celebration!
Every year, we hold a small celebration for parents to attend and, hopefully, celebrate a happy start for your family in your new school. This date will be set at the start of the academic year.
In the meantime, please do spend some time acquainting yourself with our website.
